How do you pair a wine with a house? Let’s find out!
Welcome back to wine and real estate! Today I am at 845 Wave St in Monterey, one of the more exciting properties on the market on the peninsula today. This mixed commercial/residential multi-unit is an incredible opportunity for a savvy investor and savvy wine connoisseur and pairs perfectly with this Txakoli from Ameztoi from the Basque Coast of Spain.
The first thing that you’ll notice when you see this wine is its light, slightly fizzy texture. This is a result of the wine being kept in contact with its natural carbon dioxide during fermentation. The second thing you’ll notice is the acidity. This wine has a very high acidity, which helps to balance out the sweetness of the fruit. The third thing you’ll notice is the minerality. This wine has a very strong mineral character, which comes from the limestone soils of the Basque Coast.
So how does this wine pair with the 845 Wave St property? Just like the Amezoti Winery that overlooks the coast of Spain, 845 Wave is loaded with ocean views and is a stone’s throw away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Bright, clean, fun, and a little spritzy, I can’t imagine a better place to enjoy a glass than from one of the multiple balconies with ocean views. The first balcony is off of the the front residential building, which has 4 bedrooms and updated kitchen and bathrooms as well as prime views of the ocean and the aquarium. The second balcony is off the back unit, with a huge full sized patio overlooking the same epic views as well. You might as well be in San Sebastian!! The real kicker here is the expansive first floor commercial space that is primed, updated, and ready to rent out or use for your business store front!
