Find the worst house on the best block. Real estate 101 is all about location- so find a property surrounded by amazing homes! You’ll be surprised at how much you can save by renovating an older, fixer-upper home in a great location. And even look for homes that are fixer uppers where you can add value. A little home in remodeling goes a long way in equity.
Search for price per sq foot. you can often times find outliers at lower price per square foot than all the neighbors. you can traditionally find a bigger home in an area at a little bit of a better value.
Look for motivated sellers. If a seller is highly motivated, they may be more negotiable on the price of their home. This could be due to a job transfer, financial hardship, or simply wanting to move quickly.
Look at the days on market for houses. if they’ve been sitting for days, you can often times negotiate the deal down.
