Known as P.G. to locals, this cozy, picturesque town has a classic Main Street, USA feel. Pacific Grove has Victorian-era houses, many of which have been turned into bed-and-breakfasts, with local eateries, handmade shops, and a classic movie theater. Officially nicknamed Butterfly Town USA, it includes a 4-mile recreational trail along Ocean View Avenue from Monterey Bay Aquarium to Asilomar State Beach. Some highlights of PG include the monarch butterfly habitat sanctuary, the Natural History Museum, Lovers Point beach, and the oldest continuously-operating lighthouse on the west coast. Pacific Grove has numerous Victorian-era houses, many of which have been turned into bed-and-breakfasts.

One of the most famous sights in Pacific Grove is a seasonal phenomenon. In Spring when the purple flowers of ice plants bloom along its length, the rocky coastline of Oceanview Blvd is breathtaking.
