Marina

Marina, located 10 minutes North of Monterey is situated right on the coast featuring Marina State Beach. This smaller community is wonderfully diverse, teeming with options for food, culture, and adventure. Vast stretches of sand dunes, ethnic cultures and cuisines with your choice of local specialty restaurants, and the affordability of property in Marina makes it the perfect place to call home. The City’s history is intertwined with the old Fort Ord Military Base. In July 1994, the California State University, Monterey Bay opened, and barracks were soon transformed into dorms. As a result of this base closure, the last undeveloped natural wildlands on the Monterey Peninsula are now overseen by the Bureau of Land Management, including 86 miles of trails for the public to explore on foot, bike or horseback accessible through this town!
